The Crash at Roswell: An Overview. #SciFiRoswellCelebration

Happy 65th anniversary, Roswell! The good news is that E.B.E. that survived is finally eligible for full retirement. So those of you in Boca Raton look for some strange things to be happening in the near future. Congrats!

But this isn’t just a greeting card to the visitor’s in or out of New Mexico who may be reading but a short history for those out there who may be interested. After all where would alien-based science fiction be without it?

The UFO crash at Roswell started on July 8th 1947 when the RAAF announced they recovered a flying disc from a ranch near Roswell, NM. The ranch was owned by a man named Mac Brazill whose family has since spoken out about the incident.

When the announcement of a flying disc being recovered was made everyone in the media went nuts and put out this headline all over the place including on the radio:

Mind you, when I say “went nuts” I only mean in the excitement sense of the phrase. I have to say that all this kind of thing is too good for me not to believe especially if I’m going to be writing about it. After all the hubbub they pulled all the info and no one bothered to try and find out more for years. The 70′s were a different time though and more and more people became interested.
